This is your standard range trainer with a 55 grain full metal jacket projectile. The bullet ends in a boat tail, a tapered base which decreases in-flight drag to lift its G1 ballistic coefficient up to 0.274. This round performs virtually interchangeably with the ball M193 load in terms of ballistics.

But Federal has also given this round something special: a Catalyst primer. While still a Boxer-style primer and accordingly optimal for handloading, the Catalyst is 100 percent free of lead as well as barium and antimony. The Catalyst employs a nitro-thermite reaction to introduce intense and sustained heat to this round’s propellant charge. Expect extremely consistent ignition as the result!

Federal’s brass case is tailored to your rifle’s chamber, a natural at feeding and extracting without causing grief in the form of jamming, and serves admirably at the reloading press.
